Angie Stone on new album, returning to her roots and why she won’t be working with D’Angelo

Soul singer Angie Stone, along with British sensation Emeli Sandé and urban alternative songstress Janelle Monáe, headlined the 2012 Tobago Jazz Experience April 25–29. Before taking the stage to close out the Beach Jazz Fiesta on a rainy Sunday night at Pigeon Point Heritage Park, Stone took some time out to clear up a few things—the first being her return to her “roots” with her anticipated album, Rich Girl.

35th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival Returns in May

For 35 years, the Atlanta Jazz Festival has entertained folks looking for a jazz fix. Starting out as a local event, then regional and finally boasting an international audience, this year’s festival features an array of talented performers, including much-hyped band The Robert Glasper Experiment and jazz veterans Tito Puente Jr., Kathleen Bertrand and Roy Ayers. Featuring “31 Days of Jazz,” this year’s festival is sure to be just as entertaining as in years past.
