Music

After Midnight will unfortunately conclude early with a final performance Sunday, June 29 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 W 47th Street, New York City) after an eight-month run. The Tony Award-winning production currently stars the legendary Patti Labelle and Psych star Dulé Hill. Co-produced by jazz great Wynton Marsalis, who also heads the musical direction, After Midnight is a thrill-packed tribute to the age of jazz, big band, dance, Duke Ellington and the Cotton Club. Words from Harlem Renaissance poet Langston Hughes also underline the performance.

On Wednesday, October 23, Upscale teamed with RocNation and D'usse to host a private listening session and Q&A at Tags Boutique in Atlanta with Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Bridget Kelly. Kelly, who is currently on tour with Melanie Fiona, discussed her upcoming debut Something Different and what it's like to work with Jay Z on RocNation and what it takes to find success in the music business.

After drafting the fresh and flagrant King of the South, T.I. for our September/October 2013 cover shoot, we resolved that the only place that could embellish his swag, was the ultra stylish W Hotel in Midtown Atlanta.  Lights, Boxes of designers duds, an eager team and a very impressive fireplace (yes, we lit a fire at the top of summer just because we could) all played host to main man and the rest is now cemented in history.  We’ve lifted the ropes and you’ve been granted access.  Check out behind the scenes pics below.
