MARIO
All In the DNA
by Adrienne Gadling

Mario

“I’m enjoying my life. I would love to have a girlfriend right now but I am single,” singer Mario says despite persistent rumors of a romance with Rich Girl group member Audra Simmons.

It’s hard to imagine that anyone wouldn’t to be with Mario, but his current single “Break Up” continues to rise up the charts and although he says the song doesn’t reflect a recent fling, it is something he’s been through in the past.

“With “Break Up”, it’s not [a song about why] you should take me back because I’m perfect,” the Baltimore native explains. “It’s [about me saying] I am still learning myself and I want to tell you why we should stay together. It’s very personal.”

No longer sporting braids and a baby face like he did when he emerged on the scene in 2002 with his hit singles “Just a Friend” and “Braid My Hair.” The 23-year-old has come into his own and matured, which definitely shows on his recently released new album DNA.

“I am continuing to reintroduce myself and continuing to put out incredible record after incredible record, that’s what I focused on with DNA. The title is getting back to the makeup of what I do and that is being an incredible performer and an incredible singer. When I see a mic in front of me I just do what I do, like Marvin would do if he was here, like James would do if he was here, like Mike would do if he was here. That is what DNA is about for me. This is what I was born to do. I think this is what my ultimate gift is. That is what I want people to recognize.”
